Shark babies eat each other before birth

May 29, 20260 views

Before they’re even born… These sharks start killing each other. Inside the womb of the Sand tiger shark, multiple embryos develop at once but only one survives. The strongest embryo hunts and eats its siblings, one by one, until it’s alone. It’s called intrauterine cannibalism… and it means the baby that’s born is already a predator. Survival doesn’t start after birth, it starts before it.
