Most animals run from predators. Horned lizard weaponized its own face. When threatened, it can shoot streams of blood directly from the corners of its eyes, sometimes several feet away. The blood tastes disgusting to predators like coyotes and dogs, giving the lizard a chance to escape. Imagine attacking something… and it starts bleeding at you on purpose. Nature got weird with this one.
