The Sahara Desert is one of the hottest places on Earth… but it can still get covered in snow. In rare conditions, temperatures drop below freezing, especially in higher regions like Algeria. When cold air meets moisture, snow can fall across the dunes. Entire landscapes of orange sand turn white overnight. It doesn’t happen often but when it does, it creates one of the most surreal sights on Earth.
